"When I sing, I feel power. I feel a connection to something much bigger than myself and a sense of gratitude for this gift and connection. There is nothing I would rather do."

Hi. The songs on this page are from the CD, "Love Without End," which was recorded when I was 17 years old. The music is original and was written by a friend, Anne Hinton Pratt. This CD is the result of the combined efforts of family and friends who believe in me. At each step in this creation, people with real musical genius were placed in our path and gave their best. We produced this CD by standing on their shoulders. I am grateful for each one of them.
I've been singing since before I can remember. I first discovered my voice when I was eleven years old while singing a short solo line in church with my family. My voice just jumped out and filled the chapel, and something about it felt right. The next year, I heard my Mom's audio CD of "The Phantom of the Opera" and I memorized it. I loved the whole thing, but I learned it because of the performance of Michael Crawford, as the phantom. His was the first voice to inspire me in singing. I wanted to sound like him.
A few years later, after my interest with "the phantom" had waned some, I started high school. My former piano teacher, Bethany Tredway, became my first voice teacher, and had me learn choral music for the All-Region Choir audition in El Paso, Texas; which I made as a freshman. The next school year, my first in public school, I joined the school choir and met my next mentor, Mr. Reza. He was a great help in my vocal technique and built my confidence as a performer by giving me several opportunities as a soloist. It was at the end of this year that I decided I wanted to sing.
During my sophomore year I was on the varsity swim team, and I thought I wanted to swim in college. Whenever choir and swimming conflicted, I chose athletics over music, but before the end of the year I was inspired again; this time by Josh Groban. His voice amazed me, and I wanted to sing like that! The first of his songs that I tried to sing was "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring." Parts of the song were a little high for my developing voice. Mike, my older brother, laughed and asked me to stop when I first tried, but I loved the music. Eventually, I sang it in church, and fortunately, nobody laughed then.
From then on, I wanted to be a singer. Choir came over everything else and that next year I made the Texas All-State Mixed Choir. That experience is a story in and of itself, but, in short, it firmly secured my love of music. I auditioned again my senior year and went to All-State as first chair. However, more importantly, I sang a few of Josh Groban's songs for Anne Pratt, and that was where this CD began.
The music for the CD just seemed to come to Anne, and each step in its production seemed to present itself for us to take.
Singing is my favorite thing to do. When I sing, I feel power. I feel a connection to something much bigger than myself and a sense of gratitude for this gift and connection. There is nothing I would rather do.
Thank you for listening.
